Will Smith and his daughter’s gratitude: “She saved me from dark days.”
Will Smith also shared two cute pictures of his daughter Willow along with a humorous “Daddy/Daughter” meme on Sunday in a heartfelt tribute to her.
The 54-year-old Oscar inner, who is starring in I Am Legend 2 alongside Michael B. Jordan, posted a meme online featuring a tough-looking man clutching meat and holding a Bowie knife to his mouth.
“The woman who can command me hasn’t been born yet,” said the caption. However, the second half of the meme showed the same tough guy wearing a tutu and fairy wings, having a tea party with his daughter four years later.
Will said, “That Daddy/Daughter thing is REAL!” in a statement on Facebook. Willow replied in the comments section with a heart-eyed emoji.
The Emancipation actor continued with two endearing pictures that showed his close bond with his 22-year-old daughter.
In one picture, Will was seen holding Willow in a field, while in another, they were seen snuggling close to each other during a photo shoot.
On December 18, 2018, Will told People, “I think this has been the best time I’ve ever been a father.”
“I raised my first son fairly well.” Jaden helped me a little bit when we were together. I got my sea legs with Willow’s guidance.
Along with his ex-wife Sheree Zampino, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor is also a father to two kids, Trey Smith, 30, and Jaden, 24.
Will remarked, referring to his infamous Oscars slap, “The last couple of years of my life, I have sufficiently suffered enough to have real wisdom.” This last year has been the best year I’ve ever spent raising my children.
The actor from Bad Boys went on, “Learning and personal development is the best thing you can do for your kids.” Errors are to be expected.
As the adage goes, “Children see through our attempts to make them understand and do things that we did not do or comprehend.” They lose respect as well.
When I was with my kids, I could say things like, “I don’t know,” and “Let’s figure it out, together.” Since we are a team here, let’s go investigate together.”
Smith discussed how hard it was for him to “connect and love on a deep level” and how having Willow in his life gave him a clearer perspective on things.
“I guess I realized that I was lacking a little something when it comes to deep love and connection. I initially observed it in Willow. Willow was the one to say, ‘Daddy, you’re not.’”
“Willow Smith, whose breakthrough hit song “Whip My Hair” catapulted her to fame at the age of ten, hasn’t always had an easy time being Will Smith’s daughter.”
“Willow told her father, “I’m finished, Daddy,” as she left the stage during Justin Bieber’s 2011 world tour. I can’t wait to get home.”
“Will desired for his protege sensation to keep performing and fulfill her promise to open for Justin Bieber in Australia.”
“Willow, fed up with her fame, rebelled against it by shaving her head; Smith authored a biography named Will, which was released in 2021, about this experience.”
“My jaw nearly broke, loosened, and collapsed to the kitchen floor: my hair-whipping, international superstar, who dominated the world, was completely bald,” he wrote.
